MOUNT SCOTT SCHOOL TO CULMINATE BURUNDI SCHOOL PROJECT

Dr Rachael Schweiger with Principle of Mount Scott Elementary School

Dr. Clyde Rivers, Honorary Ambassador at Large for the Republic of Burundi, Africa, will be at Mount Scott Elementary School in Happy Valley, Oregon the first week in June. Dr. Michal Pitzl, a teacher at Mount Scott was instrumental in creating this project for her school and Dr. Rachael Schweiger, Advisor for Diplomatic Relations for Burundi, for Dr. Rivers, point person with the school during this project, together with Dr. Rivers, will participate in the culmination of the Mount Scott – Burundi School Project for a public school in Burundi.

Dr. Rivers says, “When I first came to Mount Scott I was moved in my heart when I saw what the students and facility had done to help school children in Burundi, it was no small thing. I am truly grateful that the facility and student body at Mount Scott Elementary School has considered how to aid others beyond their borders. This is a good example of living beyond oneself. This will be a great day for both Mount Scott School and our school in Burundi, as we finalize this school project.”
