Dr. Clyde Rivers to Speak in Ambassador Forum With Two Obama Administration Ambassadors

Dr. Clyde Rivers, Honorary Ambassador at Large for the Republic of Burundi Africa, has been honored with an invitation to participate in the Ambassador Forum at the Hampton University Ministers Conference of 2012. Dr. Rivers will be speaking on the platform with Ambassador Michael A. Battle, US Ambassador to the African Union and Suzan Johnson Cook, US Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom.



This conference is the oldest and the largest Interdenominational African American Ministers Conference in the world. Dr. Rivers was quoted saying, “It is an honor to represent Jesus Christ on this international platform.”



The topic of the Ambassador Forum will be the “Globalization of the African American Church.” The theme is, “A Global Church, Serving a Global Christ, in a Global Age.” This conference is to be held June 3rd – 8th 2012 at the Hampton University.

Dr. Robert Ornales, Founder of Elite TV, was at the National Congressional Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C. this past week with Dr. Clyde Rivers. Dr. Ornales is bringing positive exposure to the country of Burundi as he works with Honorary Ambassador at Large, Dr. Clyde Rivers.

Dr. Rivers said, “It’s a true privilege to have Elite TV as an official representative of the Burundi media.” Elite TV has been a major media force in assisting Dr. Rivers in re-branding the Republic of Burundi. Rivers went on to say, “I have not found a man with such a great heart for Burundi Africa, as Dr. Ornales. His is showing the next generation and the world a positive image of the Republic of Burundi, and for this, the country is very grateful.”

CONGRESSIONAL PRAYER DAY SUCCESS

Honorary Ambassador at Large for the Republic of Burundi, Clyde Rivers spoke at the Congressional Prayer Conference in Washington, D.C. - “Pray America Back,” this past week.



Dr. Rivers said, “The Congressional Prayer Day for our veterans and their families was a huge success.” He went on to say, “It was a great blessings to be a part of bringing honor to the men and women that continually protect our freedoms, both in the United States and around the world. It was touching to observe the comradeship amongst the veterans from multiple wars and engagements.” As Honorary Ambassador Rivers spoke at this event he challenged veterans to write their stories – their legacies – so that the next generations know the price paid for freedom.



The Congressman, Ed Royce gave an inspiring tribute to our veterans. Pastor Erick Hall, National Vice President of United States Pastors Association was also in attendance. There were special presentations as well as the Native American Warrior Medal of Valor awarded 28 veterans at this “Pray America Back” event. Honorary Ambassador Clyde Rivers said, “These are some of the true heroes of the United States of America.”

Ambassador Rivers to Meet NBA Global Ambassador

Honorary Ambassador at Large for the Republic of Burundi, Clyde Rivers, had a great phone conversation with former Houston Rocket Player and current National Basketball Association Global Ambassador, Dikembe Mutombo.

Ambassador Rivers says of Mutombo, “He has been a major supporter of Africa. He built a $20 million school and health facility in his country, DR Congo. It will be good for us to meet concerning the great opportunities for us to work together in the Republic of Burundi. Sports is a major unifier of the young people of the world and the help of the NBA Global Ambassador to empower the youth of Burundi will be very valuable to the country of Burundi. I look forward to meeting Mr. Mutombo to discuss ways we can work together for the betterment of Burundi, Africa.”

Burundi’s permanent embassy to the United Nations in New York City has a very unified front. The Burundi delegation is very supportive of the vision of 2025 for Burundi. The transformation of Burundi is in motion and is well ahead of schedule. Dr. Clyde Rivers, Honorary Ambassador at Large for the Republic of Burundi says, “When you unify a people they can build anything. The President of the Republic of Burundi has unified his people and his government. Now great things are taking place in the country. It is a privilege to watch a nation be changed because of the kind of leadership exemplified by President Pierre Nkurunziza.”
