April 10 2018 was a monumental day in global history. Dr. Lew Bayer of Civility Experts Worldwide™ and Dr. Clyde of iChange Nations™ launched their partnership of Golden Rule Civility Initiative and Global Rule Civility Training. Their goal, to bring Golden Rule Civility Training to the world. In a time in history when civility is at an all-time low, Dr. Lew Bayer with her two decades of creating civility curriculum and training globally and Dr. Clyde Rivers as the Golden Rule Dialogue Expert and leading iChange Nations™ network in creating cultures of honor in over 120 nations combined their forces to present, for the first time ever, Golden Rule Civility Initiative and Training. Their belief…if we combine Golden Rule people treatment and honor with civility skills training, we can truly impact the world with positive change in our behavior toward each other. We can create a more civil world where everyone has the opportunity to bring their unique contribution to world.

In Indiana this launch was successful as the Level One Training was accomplished with several nations engaged. Because honor is a big part of this Golden Rule Civility Initiative, Dr. Rivers and Dr. Bayer presented the 1^st Golden Rule Civility “Trailblazer Award” to Louisa Akaiso for her outstanding leadership and progressive work in civility.

Among those trained and receiving their Level One Training were, Dr. Margaret Ellis (Gambia Africa), David Martin (USA), Linda Lara (USA), Emy Etienne Jr. (Haiti/Miami) Martha Rogers (USA), Olga Naranjo (Mexico/USA), Gladys Loggin-Folorunsho (USA/Nigeria), Kiros Tewolde-Gabriel (USA/Ethiopia), Simon Karu (Nigeria), Brentlee Thomas (USA), Patti Thomas (USA), Jessica LoRusso, (Canada), Tracy Malone (USA/Ghana), Jacqueline Moore (USA), Joanne Hoo (Malaysia) Louisa Akaiso (USA/Nigeria), Zahra Kamakhani (USA) and Bob Heist (USA). These great leaders are purposefully moving Golden Rule Civility Training by engaging in this high level, highly certified training.

Dr. Clyde Rivers said, “We are very excited to be bringing this to the world at this time. We have great people willing to engage and help our world. We will see this training spread to around the globe.”

ICHANGE NATIONS EXECUTIVE DR. DONELLA PITZL ADDRESSES NATIONAL AUDIENCE AT TEXAS CHRISTIAN UNIVERISTY

At Texas Christian University, Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas in April, Dr. Donella Pitzl, Executive Director of Global Operations for iChange Nations™ as well as a World Civility Ambassador and a Golden Rule World Peace Ambassador, addressed a crowd of newly appointed Golden Rule International World Peace Ambassadors. She brought to the audience the framework of iChange Nations™ as well as the commissioning of the newly appointed World Peace Ambassadors. She said, “ICN is very happy to continue to appoint people helping mankind with the Golden Rule International Award for their service to and love for humanity of all cultures, races and religions around the world. Exemplifying with their lives, ‘Treating others the way they want to be treated.’”

Dr. Donella tells us for this article, “iChange Nations™ is dedicated to three key things. One, bringing back the lost art of honor.  ICN is the largest global, “Building Cultures of Honor” organization in the world. iChange Nations™ believes that there are amazing contributions in everyone born on this earth. When those contributions are able to come forth in individuals and those individuals honored for their addition to humanity and our world, the world becomes a better place. As Dr. Pitzl expounded, “Moving on to one of the greatest focuses of iChange Nations™, Golden Rule Civility and Golden Rule Dialogue. Our world is in dire need of civil people treatment. All we have to do is look around. There have been several civility training mechanisms set in motion around the world. At ICN we are experiencing civility laced and lead with the Universal Principle of Golden Rule People Treatment, ‘Treat others the way you want to be treated.’ is the true change agent. You see, without this element, of Golden Rule Universal People Treatment, our societies will continue to hate and degrade each other. We fail to recognize that there are ramifications to not applying Golden Rule People Treatment. History tells us the story… How has people mistreatment affected the ending of so many lives? Those that suffer from the hand of it and those that continue to dole it out? 

We must ask ourselves the Golden Question, ‘If I were receiving this same treatment, would I be okay with it?’ There is no escaping the backdoor of people mistreatment. It will eventually come back upon the one mistreating and generations continue to suffer. At ICN we have seen all over the world that humanity responds to kindness and honor. Acts of kindness and honor have a life and fruit of their own. In saying that we continue to dedicate ourselves to this great global movement of the Golden Rule Universal Principle of People Treatment.”

WORLD CIVILITY DAY AND COMMUNITY CIVILITY COUNTS INITIATIVE IMPACTS INDIANA AND THE WORLD

Great leaders of the community of Gary Indiana, the Gary Chamber of Commerce, with Dr. Gordon Bradshaw and Dr. Chuck Hughes, Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson and other city leaders have come together to work towards civility in their state. Their efforts have combined forces to move civil actions and dialogue training into schools and create an initiative for the state.

Golden Rule Dialogue and Golden Rule People Treatment is at the heart of true civil discourse. “Treating others the way you want to be treated” is the message and the Golden Question we need to ask AND answer is, “If this treatment were happening to me, would I be okay with it?” If we are honest in our response, we’d act different and our world would change. There is a back door to poor people treatment… poor treatment WILL come back on you. Call it Karma or reaping and sowing, there’s a universal principle that has ramifications. Poor people treatment will continue to cause our world to struggle with civility issues.

Dr. Rivers said, “It is such a great thing that has happened in Indiana. A precedence has been set that is a prototype that other states and communities can follow. For the sake of our country and the world I sincerely hope others will follow suit.”

A young Community Civility Counts Initiative spokesman from one of the school programs in the Gary area, Malik Hale, shared at World Civility Day his understanding of what was taking place through this initiative and the training going on in his school. Malik received the first “iChange Nations™ Junior World Civility Award” from World Civility Day Spokesperson, Dr. Clyde Rivers. Malik is one of the upcoming leaders of our world and there are others that are following. Malik will be working with the Gary Chamber as a young leader and advocate for World Civility and Community Civility Counts Initiative. Dr. Rivers commented, “Malik is an outstanding young man that is going to make a big difference in this world. It was a privilege to honor him with our ICN Junior World Civility Award. We will bring honor to those that are honorable and it will raise the bar for our young people. They will want to become what we honor.”
