In the constitution of
the United States of America. We have the establishment clause" which
prohibits government from making any law respecting an establishment of
religion. This clause not only forbids the government from establishing an
official religion, but also prohibits the government from unduly favoring; one
religion over another. It also prohibits the government from unduly preferring
religion over non-religion or non-religion over religion.
This is our constitutional right in the United States of America. We
as religious organizations have the right to establish our own accreditation agencies
to accredit us by our peers in the faith, because our government cannot
endorse any religion
above another because of the establishment clause in the first amendment.
Understanding this when looking for a theological or seminary education is very
important to know. We have the right to our own accrediting system and we are
within our rights as American citizens.
